Diesel Technician Training

Located about an hour outside Cleveland and near Akron in Lake Milton, OH, TDDS is one of the leading truck driving and diesel mechanic schools in Ohio. TDDS has one of the industry's premier diesel mechanic training programs in the country.

As a diesel mechanic, you can inspect, repair or overhaul buses, 18 wheelers, and any other vehicle with a diesel engine. With our diesel mechanic training program, you can gain a solid education in the science of diesel engine work.

Our diesel mechanic training in Ohio includes four units of study. For your first unit, you can learn heavy-duty vehicle and tool orientation, basic welding, tire and rim servicing, foundation brakes, air brake systems, power steering, basic hydraulics, and suspension systems.

The second unit looks at preventative maintenance, transmissions, drive axles, heavy-duty diesel engine assembly and disassembly, and basic diesel engines. The third unit looks at electronics including upper engine technology, basic electrics, circuits, chassis wiring, dieseltronics, basic PC operations, and troubleshooting and diagnostics. The final unit includes service consulting and career services, light-duty diesel, and a review of the previous three units. On completion of each of our diesel mechanic training units there is a review and a unit exam.

As a student receiving truck mechanic training, you can be equipped with the right tools to assist you in your program. We provide you with tools such as a gear wrench diesel tech set, tire valve tool, tread depth gauge, digital multi-meter, truck tire inflator, impact extension, impact set, socket sets, and much more. By training with the appropriate tools at our diesel engine service school and receiving practical, hands-on experience, you can be prepared for your future career as a diesel tech.

Our diesel mechanic school in Ohio offers complete bumper-to-bumper tractor-trailer repair, heavy equipment servicing, small classes, live equipment - not simulators, CDL training, job placement, on-campus housing, and government financial aid (including Title IV funding) for all who qualify.
